Who we are?
Tiger Moth World is owned and operated by former airline pilot Randy Walsh and Sandra Walsh. Randy has over 45 years flying experience in the region – from grass roots aviation in vintage biplanes through to commercial jets. It has always been a passion for Randy to go back to his grass roots and operate adventure flights in vintage aircraft from his own private airfield in their home town of Torquay. It is a spectacular part of the coast and the Walshes can now share that passion with the thousands of visitors to the region.
In 1989, we designed and lovingly recreated a World War II style grass aerodrome at our own private Torquay airfield. It has been developed specifically for Tiger Moth World as an all over field for our biplane adventure flights. It abuts the beautiful Great Ocean Road foreshore reserve and all the action all happens literally metres away from the viewing area.
Since our establishment in 1989 we have flown over 45,000 plus happy passengers with an impeccable safety record.

Why fly with us?
We are in the business of fun. This is all we do and we love it! Our pilots have accumulated more hours and experience on our vintage biplanes than most pilots could hope to achieve in their lifetime! And, because the pilots are totally focused on our adventure flights – they are extremely good at it!
We have featured in numerous TV shows, videos, magazines and publications right around the world and many of our international visitors tell us that we are a “must do” on their itinerary during their visit to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road.
Over the past 28 years, Tiger Moth World has been proud to see many of their pilots now flying with international airlines. The pilots you fly with today are the future Captains of the airlines. And, the most rewarding thing is that they return to visit regularly and look back at their time with Tiger Moth World as being the best, most fun flying they ever did!
